My Story

Originally from upstate New York, I have lived in Colorado since 1998. Together, my husband of 25 years and I have raised three amazing children who are now young adults. As a family, we enjoy spending time together—sharing meals, playing games, cuddling with our kitty, playing with our dogs, or simply sitting in our backyard listening to music.

Having experienced four pregnancy losses, we were grateful to grow our family through adoption. Our sons and daughter are our soul babies. I firmly believe we were meant to be together, and I am deeply grateful for them every day.

I was drawn to helping people in grief because of my own experiences. I felt that need then, and I continue to see a need for the normalization and acceptance of grief in our society. It is an honor to bear witness to and walk alongside others on this journey.

My practice is grounded in trauma-informed care, using mindfulness, somatic, and emotionally focused therapies to create a space where people feel safe, supported, and empowered. At the heart of my work is a simple belief: dignity, respect, and human connection matter most and help carry us through the most difficult parts of life.

Warmly,
Laura L. Bodmer, LCSW, APHSW-C
